Noise pollution can be an annoying and frustrating hassle. It can disrupt the privacy and tranquility and silence of the family home or industrious business. Noise pollution may come from loud industrial work, construction work and heavy machinery. In the latest news, however, it seems that noise pollution can also come from the annoying disruptions of a celebrity. In London, the pop megastar Madonna was cited for noise pollution as her staff threw a wild party while the singer was away.

Officials from the Westminister City Council were called in on June 27 to investigate the noise pollution incident, after neighbours formally complained. Madonna was out of the country at the time, but the disturbances have landed Madonna with a fine of up to $5000.
